Designed for Public Spaces
Three fundamental principles that make Sildr the ideal choice for public spaces.
Technical Specifications
Everything you need to know about dimensions, materials and technical requirements
Installation
6-step installation process for safe assembly
Foundation
Place the foundation as instructed, with conduit pipes in the centre. Each conduit pipe should have a maximum diameter of 100 mm, with one pipe for water and one for power.
Route cables through fountain
Leave some extra length on the water and power cables when routing through the drinking fountain, approximately 3 m.
Bolt fountain to foundation
Important to ensure the drinking fountain is level, especially if installed on a slope.
Connect wires to touch button
Follow the instructions for the Touchless button and secure the wires with heat shrink tubing to prevent corrosion and wear.
Fit press-fit plate
Press the 3D-printed plate inward into the fountain until it stops. Ideally the plate should sit slightly inside the angled cut of the fountain. Tap with the handle of a hammer or rubber mallet for fine adjustments.
Attach nozzle to water line
Route the water line through the centre of the 3D-printed plate and attach the nozzle to the water line.
Infrastructure Placement
Culvert: Minimum depth 1.5 m
Technical room (recommended): Must have drainage, easy access for maintenance
Pipe tunnel: Requires additional equipment for good IoT signal strength
Drainage
Natural drainage
French drain (gravel and perforated pipe) provides natural aesthetics without visible grates. Suitable for areas with moderate water use.
Grate drain
Channel drain with decorative grates handles high water volume and chemical exposure. Requires corrosion-resistant material (stainless steel, aluminium, bronze). Recommended for high-traffic areas.
Customization for Your Municipality
Sildr can be spray-painted, vinyl-wrapped, or given a graphic design tailored to the municipality's identity. Here are two examples of locally adapted fountains.

Asker Municipality (2018)
Three fountains installed in the town centre with stylistic design. The fountain was chosen for its elegant S-shape and hygienic solution with a water jet from above.
- •3 fountains in town centre
- •Standard stainless steel finish
- •Touchless sensor

Bærum Municipality (2024)
Installed at Bekkestua with graphic design by artist Thomas Stønjum. Demonstrates how the fountain can be adapted to local identity and art.
- •Custom graphic design
- •Artist: Thomas Stønjum
- •Location: Bekkestua
Customization Options
The fountain can be spray-painted in any colour, vinyl-wrapped with patterns, or given a graphic design that reflects the municipality's identity and values.

Get an overview of usage, water consumption and technical status.
How does it work?
The fountain is equipped with a Maduino Zero 4G LTE microcontroller that can measure and transmit data on usage and technical status.
- •Water volume per activation
- •Number of activations per day/week/month
- •Technical status (valve, sensor, power)
- •Alerts for technical faults
IoT Data Monitoring
Optional subscription
Per fountain. Includes 4G data service and dashboard access.
•The fountain works perfectly without data transmission. Touchless sensor, water regulation and all core functions operate normally without IoT connectivity.

Water vs Water™
Water is an invisible infrastructure, hidden underground and taken for granted by all. Clean drinking water is a global luxury.
Our vision is to give water the form it deserves in public space, a symbol that honours our most precious resource. Instead of the drinking fountain being an anonymous piece of furniture in the urban landscape, we think in reverse.
We want to create an easily recognizable symbol that stands out, and can be anything from colourful to subtle and elegant. Let us revive the traditions from ancient Rome and Renaissance Paris and give the drinking fountain the expression and place it deserves in public space.
